You just know...

You know it's going to be a rough day when you are awake when your alarm goes off because your husband has kept you up all night coughing.

You know it's going to be a rough day when it takes you an extra 40 minutes to get to school beause it's raining.

You know it's going to be a rough day when you realize the gas light is on in your car and you don't have your debit card.

You know it's going to be a rough day when your two 'usual suspects' are both in trouble by the gym teacher and lab teacher before they even get to your room

You know it's going to be a rough day when you realize the temperature as dropped and you didn't bring a coat for recess duty

You know it's going to be a rough day when you show up to school with out your room key

You know it's going to be a rough day when you realize your whistle is attached to your room key

You know it's going to be a rough day when people pat you on the back before they start talking to you.

...but despite all that, today was pretty good. My students behaved, my husband is feeling better, and I get to have dinner with a great friend. Plus, I got a couple of great plays in one of my scrabble games against my cousin... :)

rants and raves

rant: I hate feeling like if something needs to be done I have to do it
rave: I'm thankful that Trevor and I always have support of our families

rant: I hate that the dogs are not getting along, it stresses me out
rave: I'm thankful for our house. It's so nice to have more room to move around.

rant: I hate not having a dishwasher
rave: I only have 4 days of school this week

At this point in my life, 25, is tough. I hate the feeling of constant limbo. Where will Trevor get into school? Where will we live? Where will I work? So many people in my life are having kids, getting married, having these big get on with your life moments. I just feel like my time is years away. It's a daily struggle to live in the moment and not have the persepective of waiting for life to start.

oh the men in my life

Oh the Men in my Life
a ballad

Today is the day where we celebrate love
chocolate and hearts, a kiss and hug

To get a reminder about how I am blessed
with the guys in my life who make it the best

The first of the men to capture my heart
was my dear ole dad, who's really quite sharp

He is funny and kind and changes my oil
he loves my momma, to her he is loyal

My brother came next: a one of a kinder
he's a strong, hugging, tall, Army fighter

My amazing husband, who I've know for a decade
Our fun way of loving is not a charade.

He's my main squeeze, my constant supporter
he's smart, and driven, and our laundry sorter

When I married my hubby, I got even more
men in my life who I truely adore

My father-in-law like a bright ray of sun
Makes everything better and twice as much fun

I also inherited Travis and Carter
who are adventureous, sweet, and make me laugh harder

My four legged men are maybe the best
Samson and Ez's love pass the test

Lucky to be their daughter, sister, wife
Oh the Men in my life

Febuary 26, 2009 this little guy entered the world and I became and aunt.
I remember the first time I saw his little face, I was hooked. He was the cutest thing I've ever seen. I haven't felt that same feeling since then. I instantly loved him. And he was in New York. I got to meet David Zekiah a few short weeks later.
Now he nears 2, can ask for just about anything including Aunt Beth.

When my brother in law decided to make the best decision of his life, I got my niece Audrey. She is spunky, funny, and extremely smart. She is a great big sister and loves her Aunt Bess and Uncle Traber

Connor David was born in mid- November of this year. He is the first Howard grandchild. He seems to be running the Howard family nicely, as to be expected.
And today, rounding out the count of 2 boys 2 girls we have Kaia Jade. She looks perfect and I'm sure she will be the princess of the house. This little thing is already very loved.

Summary

A summary of the last 2 weeks:

1. We've been moving...ie lots of car loading and unloading. I always say this..but next time we move, I'm hiring someone to do the lifting.

2. Because of the moving thing we've been in the transition with cable/tv/internet service. It's amazing how much you can get done without the distraction of media.

3. It's also because of the move-in the snow- that I think I'm running a fever and sound like I have whooping cough

4. I started Weight Watchers with a couple of friends a two weeks ago. The first week I lost 4 pounds, I weigh in tomorrow to see how much I lost this week.

5. Trev has gotten right in the Weight Watchers spirit, eating every I can't.
