All I want is chocolate cake.

Just for the sake of my pregnant memory, I thought I should document this fun phase of pregnancy I'm currently in. You may remember with Miles, my blood pressure unexplainably shot up around week 35, resulting in him being induced at week 37.  Going into this pregnancy I have been doing all I can to make sure I don't have a repeat of high blood pressure.  It was no fun being on bedrest, and I can't imagine doing it with Miles around now.  So, when I went to the doctor last Monday, I was relieved to know that my blood pressure was perfect.

Then he told me my glucose levels were 'wacky'.  I know, such a medical term.  In switching doctor's late in pregnancy because of our move, my glucose test got delayed. My first one hour test came back 2 points over the 'cut off' for an acceptable level.  I attributed this to the guy taking my blood didn't wait the full hour before he took it.  So off I went for the 3 hour test.  All along the nurses and my doctor have given me different views of my numbers. The nurses acted like it was totally fine, my doctor has been siding with the more cautious view of, lets get more information.

I didn't hear anything from my three hour results for nearly a week.  The receptionist told me that 'no news is good news' so I assumed that it had turned out fine. Well, at my last appointment was when I got the diagnosis of 'wacky levels'.  Basically my first and second hours were around 8 points more than the cut off, and my third hour was within range. So my next step was to monitor my glucose levels at home with a blood glucose meter. Then the doctor rattled off all these terrible side effects at birth that could happen as a result of my 'high blood sugar'.  At the end of the appointment he was like, Everything looks great, see you in a week.  uhhhhh what?

So, for the last week I've been watching my carb intake and checking my blood sugar. It has always been well within range (between 90-100, 2 hours after meals: the cut-off is 120)  (in the 70s when I wake up). So I'm not too worried about birth complications because Hazel is weighing in right on track with her 36 week and I'm measuring good. I've gained 14lbs now and she is moving constantly.

Besides a healthy baby, I can't wait to eat a huge piece of chocolate cake. Come on July!

Miles at 13 months/ 36 weeks pregnant

Miles has had a busy 6 weeks since his birthday!  (in no particular order)

He went to Arkansas to visit his friend Elsa.  They had a great time eating and playing. Miles had fun splashing in the pool and tub, Elsa didn't enjoy him getting her face wet. Trevor and I had a great time catching up with Elsa's parents.

Miles tried his hand at painting a canvas. He managed to keep all the paint on the shower curtain he was sitting on.  He went straight into the kitchen sink when this project was over.

Grammy and Papa came to visit. They brought him this rocking cow.  To say he loves it is an understatement.  I love it because it's low enough to the ground when he falls off of it, he doesn't get hurt.

Gramma and Pops got Miles this shark pool for our balcony. He thinks he should be able to stay in it all day. He loves playing with toys and sticking his head in the water.

Miles has also been working on the throwing fits. This particular fit was because I wouldn't let him eat an old, used Band-Aid.  Cry me a river.

Miles learned to crawl. Well, it's a work in progress but he can move himself officially.  He's not going to win any races anytime soon.  He also has been pulling-up and cruising more.

Miles has also cut at least 3 more teeth.  These are his two top teeth, which I think are hilariously far apart.  He gets that from his dad. :) He hates when I look or feel in his mouth, but I know there is at least one molar popped through on the top left side.

This week marks week 36 of my pregnancy with Hazel. As of last week at the doctor, I was measuring a little bit ahead.  Her heart rate was 158 bpm, and I had gained 11 lbs from my first appointment. The doctor was pleased with all these things and told me he would start checking for dilation at my appointment this week.  My major complaint is still heartburn, even with daily meds sometimes it gets so annoying.  Hazel is still all about moving around in there, and I'm convinced she will be bigger than Miles was when he was born. Here's to hoping she decided to come at the beginning of July instead of the middle because I'm SO OVER being pregnant.

May 2014

So, I'm fully aware that it's June 1st. The last time I posted was Miles first birthday at the end of April.  I can't just skip over May because it was a big month. So, in order to keep things straight, I present you with a bulleted list.

* Trevor finished his last year of Pharmacy Classes. We had his White Coat Ceremony and one more picnic with all his Pharmacy School friends.

Miles fell asleep right at the end of the two hour ceremony.  We missed seeing Trevor's scholarship awarded because it was the one time he was fussy.

The ONLY thing we enjoyed about the rigor of Pharmacy School/Weatherford were our awesome friends.

A good portion of Trevor's class of Pharmacy School

* We traveled home to Missouri for a last visit before Hazel was born.  A bonus got thrown in when we got to pick Uncle Travis up from the airport. Miles also had a family birthday party.

 Checking out some birthday presents

He had some help opening them.

 He loves his Grammy!

Papa is giving Miles some 'cow-riding' tips

* The last major thing that happened is that we moved out of Weatherford (finally) and got settled into Tulsa. We would still be living in a pile of boxes, but my parents came and unpacked them.

* I also met with my new OBGYN. I'm happy to report that Hazel is growing right on track, with a healthy heart rate of 148. She's already head down.  I'm almost 34 weeks pregnant and can't wait for this pregnancy to be over! It's getting to be impossible to get Miles down on the floor and us both back up again.
